| With the requirements for component traceability in today’s
quality standards, the increased amount of records that need
to be kept has an unacceptable penalty without the use of
automated data capture.
With a good stock control program, this problem can largely
be eliminated, but by use of component and sub-assembly tracking
with unique barcodes, completed job records will contain a
full breakdown of each individual part.
When the parts were assembled.
Which operator assembled them.
Which batch or consignment each part came from.
Production test data capture.
All this data is then contained within the database for later
dissemination.
