With the proliferation of testing processes and electronic data, comes the need to collate all of that data and produce reports.

The need for data capture becomes more pronounced as companies expand. If a machine fails within its warranty period – how do you find out which factory produced that machine and what the results were of the various tests during production ? You may need to check who carried out those tests or fitted the part which failed.

Data Solutions provide means of connecting EPOS equipment, barcode scanners, testing machines and measuring equipment to a PC, together with the software to collate the data and store it in a database which can be easily interrogated for information at a later date, using standard products such as word processors and spreadsheets.

One such project involved monitoring the data produced by equipment for charging batteries during formation and associating that data with the serial number of each battery, so that it could be recalled at a later date, for quality control and production reports.

Once collated, the data can be displayed locally on a SCADA system or overhead display or even read from anywhere in the world, using a computer connected to a telephone line.
